ALOHA!
We just got back from the beautiful island of Kauai. My daughter got married there, her fiance is from Kauai. So we had the opportunity to see Kauai from an islanders eyes! Fantastic! It truly is the Garden Island! So lush and beautiful.
We of course flew into Lihue. We spent a lot of time there as well, since many of our guest were staying at the Marriott there. A great resort, great pool and a very swimable beach front. Dukes Bar and Grill within walking distance and a great place for food, drinks and a perfect gathering place!
We stayed in Kapa'a at an Aston property, the Makaiwa', a moderate property, very affordable. Great hospitality, and a great bar with food poolside. Nice rooms, nice beach front (however, not swimable beach) the pool is nice, but the pool area could use a little TLC (lounge chairs, etc.) but I would stay there again, great location and great price!
